A project-based learning methodology to activate young people as Agents of Change in just 7 steps.

What is it?
The Changemaker Process is an experiential learning methodology that combines innovation, design, social entrepreneurship, and systemic thinking tools to enable young people working in teams to design solutions to social and environmental challenges in their environment and turn them into projects in just 7 steps.
Who is it for?
The methodology is aimed at young people in diverse learning contexts and is adapted according to the age group, the educational context, and their objectives. Our most frequent audience falls into these groups:
Young people aged 14 and over
in formal learning contexts (high school, vocational training, or similar) and non-formal learning contexts (youth centers, youth associations, NGO programs, summer camps; etc).
Young people aged 18 and over
in higher learning contexts (FP, Universities, Training Schools or similar).
Young people of all ages
in entrepreneurship programs, social entrepreneurship, product and service design, volunteering and similar.
What will you learn?
The main objective of our methodology is that at the end of the 7 steps, young people will self-identify as Change Agents and have acquired “changemaker” skills and competencies transferable to other contexts and areas of learning.
Some of these skills and competencies are:
Agency capacity to generate positive impact
Identify and understand the problems in your environment
Creative thinking to solve problems. Teamwork.
Creation, planning and management of entrepreneurial projects
Effective communication of ideas
Capacity for reflection, self-evaluation and learning
Learn the 7 steps
To achieve this learning, the 7 steps are explored experientially, and each step has its own learning objectives. While each step may emphasize one objective over another, it is the complete process that provides comprehensive learning.

1.
Me as an agent of change
We begin by asking ourselves the question, "What does it mean to be a Change Agent?" We explore who they are, what they do, and what their skills and qualities are.
We find our personal connection with the concept and connect with others through it.
Learning objective:
Describe how you too can be an Agent of Change
2.
Discovering challenges in my community
What are the world's most pressing challenges today? We look around us, share, and discuss how global issues are present in our communities and lives.
We talked about what worries us, we mainly listened and chose a common fight with our team.
Learning objective:
Knowing your environment and being able to identify real problems and needs and how they fit within the context of global challenges.

3.
Ideas, innovation, creativity
How could we offer a solution to the challenge that concerns us? We explore our creativity through innovation techniques to generate collective ideas for change.
We put our talents and passions at the center of this and chose an idea to turn into a project.
Learning objective:
Think creatively to find possible solutions to problems
4.
The project
We turn ideas into sustainable projects by putting them in writing!
We develop our idea and make it grow by adding all the dimensions that a project should have: objectives, activities, resources, team, budget...
Learning objective:
Working as a team to design, create and plan entrepreneurial projects.

5.
Action!
A plan without a deadline is... bad.
We need to take action and decide who will do what, when, and how. But before we get started, we need to know if our idea works by creating a prototype.
We will return to the written project again and again to adjust it.
Learning objectives:
Use agile prototyping to learn if our ideas work and to connect with the community
6.
Share your project

7.
Reflection and learning
Throughout the process, we will give and receive feedback and self-evaluate each step. At the end, we will analyze our progress, see how much we have learned, and decide how to continue our journey as agents of change.
Learning objectives:
Reflect on the successes and difficulties of the learning process and give and receive feedback.
